Knitting pattern for Ellen Sweater by Ellen Dam and Katrine Hannibal for Önling
Ellen sweater is designed as a reversible sweater and it is knitted in Önling No 20, 100% Shetland wool and Önling No 10, silk mohair, which in combination results in a warm, soft and lightweight sweater. The design is inspired by cosy weekends at the sea cottage and the sweater encapsulates both comfort and style. Imagine wrapping yourself up in this warm cosy piece in a slightly oversized design with classic sleeves and and a snug neckline. The wide raglan details and delicate seed stitch pattern add a sophisticated texture. The design is intended for 5-10 cm in positive ease. Sleeves and edge details can be adjusted to suit your preferences.

Recommended circular needles: No. 5 / US 8
Gauge: 16 sts and 22 rows in seed stitch pattern on needle no. 5 / US 8 = 10 x 10 cm, blocked after wash
NOTE! The seed stitch pattern shrinks the sweater, so remember that the measurements are after wash and blocking
Procedure: The sweater is knit in the round, top down. It starts with a provisional cast-on to adjust the size of the neckline afterward. Short rows are worked across the shoulders and back at the beginning to create a higher back neck.
The yoke is worked with raglan increases. Then, the work is divided, and sleeves and body are worked separately. The sleeves are worked in the round. After trying on the sweater, the provisional cast-on is unraveled, and the edges are finished with i-cord or ribbing.
